4 pillars of success

4 pillars of success

Success is defined in different ways by different people: wealth, health, fame, love, happiness.

I recently asked the question in an email and I will share some of the answers with you:

‘Success for me is the progressive realisation of any worthy goal.’

‘For me success means doing something to the best of my ability and doing it with honesty and integrity.’

When my children were young, a successful day would be: not too much upheaval and…… my boys would have eaten a healthy meal.

Success is something that doesn’t walk in the door while you are eating potatoes on the coach; you need to work it. Even if it has walked into your life without deliberate effort from your side (what can happen in the music industry or when a home Youtube gets viral), there is effort involved to keep it going, otherwise the success will fizzle out.

Recently I read an article in Forbes Magazine, talking about the 4 secrets for success. I played around with those ideas and translated them in my own perception into the 4 P’s – the 4 pillars of success – a combination of mindset and action:

Be Positive – believe in your success, live as if you have achieved your success and the Law of Attraction will help you to make it a reality. Confidence is essential here, and lacking confidence might get in the way.

Be Passionate – your heart needs to be involved, to give it that extra edge, that ‘je ne sais quoi’, that makes you stand out from everybody else. People around you won’t have passion in the way you do, it might feel lonely, but that is the price.

Persevere – ‘Winners never quit and quitters never win.’ – Vince Lombardi You have to keep going, especially when the going gets tough. The journey can be a rollercoaster, but you will always climb back on.

Prioritise – you have limited resources of time, energy, capacity. Make the choices that support your journey to success. Most of all, make your physical and mental health a priority, because you need you to realise your success.

Apart from the 4 P’s as mentioned above a dose of CONFIDENCE, a sense of CONTROL and CREATIVITY are also essential.

And if you go for a more successful life, you have to give up certain things.
